"Young People Doing Great Things" Marsai Martin







In today's episode of "Young People doing great things" our star is a 15 year old actress and producer who has blessed our screen with her talent and impeccable sagacity.


Marsai Martin is the youngest movie producer in the world. Born August 14 2004, the American actress and producer is known for her role as Diane Johnson in the ABC comedy series Black-ish. She starred in the 2019 Universal Pictures comedy film Little, for which she was also an executive producer.


The teenager has won 9 awards and 13 nominations between 2014 and 2019.











In 2016, Martin made her film debut playing a leading role in the Amazon Studios original film
An American Girl Story – Melody 1963: Love Has to Win set in Detroit during the Civil Rights Movement .





In 2019, Martin starred in her first studio feature film, the comedy Little, for Universal Pictures.
At the age of 13, she became executive producer of the film, making her the youngest person in Hollywood to ever produce a movie.





Martin also starred in the film StepMonster, a comedy about a teenage girl who is adjusting to life with a new stepmother. She become the youngest person to get a first-look deal at Universal, and the youngest person to get a deal at any studio.





On May 2019, it was announced Martin would be producing and starring in the film adaption of Amari and the Night Brothers for Universal Pictures.





On December 2019, it was announced that Martin was producing the comedy film Queen.

It's August 15th I see a lady, she looks frail and sorrowful lying helplessly in a hospital bed. I could tell by her countenance that she is drenched in depression. I was prompted to go to her. I held her hand and said "Jesus loves you ma'am" she smiles at me; a warm and charming smile. I smile back. I give her a hug, then spend more time with her. We chat a little. Tomorrow, it'd be second August again and Mary will go out to China town. She'd buy herself some beautiful Chinese lanterns and all sorts of decor she can remember. Each year, they become less because of her amnesia. Then she'd stop by her favourite Chinese restaurant and buy everyone sushi. Dad will help take out everything in the garage and she'll set up her decorations, it had become some kind of ritual, one that only both of them understood. When the clock strikes nine in the night and the star lights are in place, for some bizarre reason, there are always star lights in the sky on the second of August. Its as if even God understands that the night lights are important to her. She'd dress up in a beautiful dinner gown and come downstairs, and dad as always, will take her by the hand and walk her to the front door.
